Tomball High School operates on a seven period schedule with the school year consisting of two semesters. Over 250 courses are offered to prepare students for post high school learning and work. Advanced placement and concurrent credit courses are offered in 24 different areas ranging from art to physics.
Twenty five credits are required for graduation: 4 units of English, 4 units of social studies, 4 units of mathematics including algebra, 3 units of science, 1-1/2 units of physical education, 1/2 unit of health, 1 unit of computer, 1/2 unit of speech, and 6-1/2 electives.
The Technical Preparation (Tech Prep) Program is offered as a course of study designed to meet the needs of high school graduates seeking a more technically oriented education background. Tech Prep prepares students for advanced post-secondary programs. Tech Prep students are prepared to enter the work force or pursue associate or four year degrees.
Excellence is a priority of our high schools as is reflected in the mission statement, "Improving student performance · Building lifelong learners · Setting the standard for excellence." Student achievement is at the center of this school which consistently receives awards for performances in academic competitions, on the fields, and the stages.
