Activities
DPES Children's Choir
The Decker Prairie Children's Choir is under the direction of our music teacher, Mrs. Angela Mathes and Miss Hannah Ricks. This is an auditioned choir usually consisting of an equal mix of third and fourth grade children. Choir members are shining examples of the children that attend DPES and are expected to maintain passing grades and excellent discipline. The choir is busy throughout the year performing at concerts, festivals, and local competitions.
DPES Ropers
Ropers is the jump rope team at Decker Prairie. They practice twice a week on Wednesday and Thursdays before school and perform throughout the community during the school year. The team consists of 3rd and 4th graders that try out in early September. They are chosen not only for their jump rope skills, but for their upstanding behavior and dedication in the classroom. This team was originally formed in the spring of 1990. The Ropers are under the direction of PE teachers, Gaylynn Anderson. DPES students always look forward to this activity as they become 3rd graders. It is truly a DPES tradition!
