Friendswood Development Company hosted a Recreation Center Groundbreaking Event on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from noon to 3 pm. An official groundbreaking photo with representatives from Friendswood Development Company and the community's first residents was taken at 11:45 am.
Then, guests enjoyed free barbeque from Spring Creek Barbeque while watching the Texans beat Jacksonville on a Big Screen TV under a tent in the parking lot of the new Recreation Center. A bounce house was provided for the kids, courtesy of MW Cleaners.
The new Recreation Center is scheduled to open in 2016.
