Friendswood Development Company hosted a ribbon cutting and ground breaking event to celebrate the opening of its new Woodtrace community located just three miles north of the future Grand Parkway. Woodtrace is north of Tomball at the intersection of SH 249 and Woodtrace Boulevard.
The event was hosted by Friendswood Development Company and the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce and was attended by builders, Realtors and community leaders. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to a lunch at the nearby Pecos Grilling Company.
Friendswood Development closed on the property in December, 2013 and is planning a grand opening for the community in late summer or early fall. More than 840 homes are planned for the 488-acre Woodtrace located in the Tomball Independent School District.
New homes are priced from the $300,000s to $800,000s and will be offered in four building programs that include: 55-foot, 65-foot, 75-foot and 85-foot home sites. Current builders are Village Builders, Ashton Woods Homes, Trendmaker Homes, J. Patrick Homes and other builders to be determined.
Amenities include private streets, a 20-acre lake, greenbelt trails, wooded home sites, park areas, future lakes and a planned recreation center.
Immediate access to SH 249 and a location close to the Grand Parkway which will be complete next year are fueling demand for new homes in the north Houston area. Residents of Woodtrace will have convenience to all areas of Houston including the new Exxon Mobil campus, the Greenspoint Business District, downtown and The Woodlands.
