Whitmeyer’s Distilling Co. is looking to make the new South Live Oak Industrial Park in Tomball it's permanent home. This is a new Tomball development area purchased by The Tomball Economic Development Corp.
Whitmeyer’s, originally a vodka, whiskey and gin distillery, is currently located in the Spring and Klein area. Due to current demand arising from COVID-19, the distillery switched production to hand sanitizer at the Tomball location. The distillery would like to expand its hand sanitizer production and is currently negotiating a lease with TEDC.
In addition to donating hand sanitizer to first responders, Whitmeyer’s has distributed more than 100,000 gallons for free throughout the community. They are currently producing 40,000 gallons of hand sanitizer per day and are looking to increase production to 1,000,000 gallons per month starting in June.
While many companies are reducing workforce, distillery co-owner Travis Whitmeyer said they have created approximately 130 new jobs. The expansion plans to include a 10,000-foot barrel house and an event venue.
Whitmeyer’s fits the vision the TEDC has for South Live Oak Industrial Park and would be a welcome addition to the Tomball Community.
