Most kids at 13 are more concerned with boys and social outings, but not Molly Haywood. She can tumble, rock climb and jump over a high bar while pole vaulting. At 13, Haywood, from Tomball, is one of nearly 200 children to compete on the obstacle course show “American Ninja Warrior Junior,” which aired on Saturday, Nov. 12. During her first race, Haywood beat her opponent Eliza Aitken, from De Pere, Wisconsin, who fell into the water. Haywood then went up against Ricardo Perez from Houston, but lost in the second heat. Still, she got to show off her efforts when her episode featuring her run aired on Universal Kids. When she’s not at the gym, she works out on the ninja course in her backyard. Haywood and her brother were two of the children chosen to appear on the show out of 9,000 applicants.
