The Harris County Tollroad Authority is opening phase 1 of the Tomball Tollway on April 12.
The 6-mile roadway will be open to traffic beginning at 6 pm April 12 following the "Stroll the Toll" event, organized by the City of Tomball and the Greater Tomball Chamber of Commerce, from 2-4 p.m.
The $155 million project will provide three toll lanes in each direction between Spring Cypress Road to just north of FM 2920. The cost to drive the entire tollway will be $1.45 and all payments are electronic only, no cash.
The Tomball Parkway project began in 2013 as a solution to save commuters time and improve area mobility.
