The Friendswood Development Company community of Tavola in New Caney is happy to announce that the neighborhood's popular Tavola Reindeer Run 5k/1K Family Fun Run will return on Saturday, December 4, 2021. The 5k will begin at 8:00 am followed by the 1K family run/walk at 9:00 am.
The race includes free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a rock-climbing wall, a giant snow globe which families can go inside and get a keepsake photo, as well as free food and a gourmet coffee and hot chocolate bar.
Everyone who participates will receive a long-sleeved race t-shirt, goodie bag, and finisher medal. The overall female and male finishers will receive a $100 cash prize, and there will be a $100 cash prize for best holiday costume. There will also be the chance to win prize drawings by visiting any of the builder model homes the weekend of the race.
Proceeds from the race benefit Tavola Elementary School and there is a $2,500 donation to the New Caney ISD School Campus with the most participation.
