Construction continues on the Hwy 249 extension that will stretch from FM 1774 in Pinehurst to Hwy. 105 in Navasota. Section 1A from FM 1774 to FM 1488 in Magnolia opened this past August, while section 1B from FM 1488 to FM 1774 in Todd Mission is expected to be open in the spring 2021. The $843.8 million dollar project is projected to wrap up with the Segment 2 completion in late 2023.
The current widening of FM 2978 also has a projected completion date in 2021. This widening project stretches from FM 1488 to Hufsmith Conroe Road.
The Harris County Toll Road Authority has also been working on linking Hwy. 249 tollway and the Grand Parkway via four southbound direct connectors. This project has a summer 2022 completion plan.
