Discover Burroughs Park

It’s the perfect time of year for a picnic in the park! Recently families have had to reach outside of their typical routines in order to keep the family calm and entertained. New routines have been put in place and new discoveries have been made.

One such discovery is the scenic Burroughs Park off Hufsmith Road in Tomball. This 320-acre park consists of a seven-acre fishing lake, picnic area and playgrounds, eight miles of trails, a large dog park, and sports fields.

The wildlife alone is worth the visit. Turtles bask on the banks of the lake, ducks and geese meander the lake pathways, graceful egrets perch on the branches, squirrels scurry throughout the park, and you may even spot a deer or two depending on the time of day.

While contact points, such as the playground and benches remain temporarily off limits, there is still plenty of space to enjoy a family activity. You will spot fishermen enjoying some solitude on the banks of the lake, couples having a picnic in the grassy areas, or families playing toss. The paths are large enough to accommodate the number of walkers, runners and kids on bikes.

Take your family to discover what Burroughs Park has to offer! The park is open from 7 AM to dark every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
