Downtown Tomball hopes to draw more visitors with a new mural for the Tomball Information Center at 215 W. Main Street. The proposed mural will depict Tomball railroad roots by incorporating the city mascot and city slogan, “Texan for Fun”, into the design.
The Tomball Tourism Advisory Committee reviewed designs and have recommended artist Beth Mankin Jones for to complete the project. Jones past projects include work for Pepsi-Cola, SplashTown Waterpark, Landry’s Restaurants and Joe’s Crabshack. Work should begin as soon as the council gives final approval.
Tomball’s Historic Depot Railroad Museum has recently reopened and City Manager, Rob Hauck, hopes visitors to the museum take time to take their photo in front of the new mural.
